This amazing H frame studio easel is made from elm, oak and pine. It has a brilliant patina from years of studio work and it still has the stencilled makers name on it. It has a hand cut toothed cog that ratchets the retaining clasp via the original hemp twine. A fantastic way to bring a bit of rustic texture to your room and a great way to display interesting artworks when you run out of walls. I bought this from the son of it’s deceased owner who claimed to have bought it in about 1960 from a studio sale of a well known artist but the son had forgotten the name…must be very well known. Who knows Dobell or an angry penguin may have daubed at it. Either way it is just a super cool object and impossible to replace these days.
